Web 2.0 design overkill?
Thursday, August 17, 2006

Click here to see more of probably what is only half (or less) of the Web 2.0 logos in existence, compiled by Ludwig Gatzke. Just looking at it may be enough to put me off:
- Gradient backgrounds
- Large colorful icons, often with reflections and drop shadows
- Large typefaces (Hmm, maybe not this one! – Su Yin)
- Diagonal hatch background
- Glossy three-dimensional elements
- Apparently random highlights and call-outs in text
- Rounded corners
- Supermarket stickers
- Transparency
- Wet floor effect
Well, at least for a while anyway.
